Warriors Rugby Club 7s Series: A Season of Dedication and Growth

The Warriors Rugby Club has wrapped up another 7s season with hard work and from both our men’s and women’s teams. This season offered valuable experiences that will help shape the club’s approach for the future.

Men's Team: Steady Commitment Pays Off
Our men’s 7s team successfully participated in three tournaments and won every single one of them, claiming the overall series championship. The achievements on the field were built on the resolve seen during Monday night training sessions throughout the winter. As the trainer Rhys Morgan explained:

“The success of the 7s season was down to the hard work and the buy in from all the lads who showed up to Monday night trainings throughout winter and committed to every tournament!”

This measured approach and overall commitment have not only led to tournament victories but also set a solid foundation for the 7s team spirit moving forward.

Women's Team: Valuable Lessons and promising Results

The women’s team also had a season of learning and development. While the team placed 4th overall in the series, each tournament provided a unique opportunity to grow, especially as new players integrated well with the seasoned members. Reflecting on their progress, coach Jack Beresford commented:

“This sevens series was a good growing season for our team that offered us many learning opportunities. We placed 4th overall this year, with each tournament being different from the last. During the series we managed to field many new players, and they showed great skills and enthusiasm. Despite some unlucky injuries, there were times where the team really came together, delivering great tries and showing our teeth. Finishing 2nd in the last tournament was a nice way to end the series and we're looking forwards to the coming XV season.”

Looking Ahead
Both teams have shown that a season defined by steady work and incremental progress can pave the way for future improvements. As we transition to the 15s season, the experiences and lessons from the 7s series will continue to shape our training and on-field strategies.
